Janelle + Tommy: Married!

I had such a wonderful time with these two! Janelle and Tommy brought their nearest and dearest out to Hawaii for an intimate garden wedding at the Hale Koa. It is awesome when I get to see people so in love sharing such a beautiful day with the people they care about. Janelle proved what I always tell bride’s about crying – happy tears look gorgeous and memorable in photos! Everything was perfectly planned by wedding coordinator Kehau of Eventful. She even managed to arrange hula lessons for Janelle who then performed for her new husband at the reception. It was so beautiful! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. Another favorite part of the evening was when Janelle changed into a sassy red cocktail dress and the happy couple performed a sexy salsa routine for their first dance! Awesome!

Jennifer + Antwan: Married!

This is a very special wedding that I’ve been meaning to write about for ages! I had the opportunity to participate in the Relay for Life in Kailua last year. I donated an 8 hour wedding package with all the fixins to be a part of their silent auction. Jennifer, who works for the American Cancer Society, just happened to be getting married. Turns out she wasn’t even planning on hiring a wedding photographer (gasp!) but since this was a great opportunity to support an important cause ans get a great deal, she deccided to go for it.

It was such a pleasure working with Jen and Twan. They are truly kind and wonderful people. To make things even more emotionally charged, Twan is stationed over in Iraq and was only home for the wedding on a short leave! So Jen made all of the plans, Twan flew home, got married and shortly after shipped right back to Iraq! Needless to say it was a very intimate affair with everyone so happy and relieved just to be together. I was honored to be a part of such an important day for these two giving and wonderful people.

Marie + Rudy: Married!

This very special day is just the icing on the metaphorical wedding cake of a beautiful family that has been committed to each other for a long time. Rudy looks like a tough guy on the outside but he is just about the sweetest man I’ve ever met. He was in charge of getting their three boys ready for their role as co-ringbearers and he handled the task with the gentle and loving patience of a great dad. Marie, calm, serene and quietly in charge is not only a super-mom, but a gorgeous bride!

The wedding took place in the Maile Garden at the Hale Koa Hotel in Honolulu. I love this garden because it is so green and tropically beautiful. It is also a perfect spot for a wedding ceremony on a hot Hawaii afternoon! It’s nice and shady and there is almost always a lovely breeze blowing through. Family and friends headed up to the reception and the happy couple an I got to spend a little bit of time on the beach. We were rewarded with a fantastic Hawaii sunset! What a beautiful day!
